Two experienced Argentines Maximo Gonzalez and Carlos Berlocq are placed as the highest ranked players at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open qualifying draw.

In the second year of the ATP clay-court tournament being held at the Garanti Koza Arena, top seed of the qualifying action Gonzalez will start his Istanbul campaign against Bosnian Tomislav Brkic. Currently ranked 137th Gonzalez has 16 singles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Meanwhile former world no.37 Berlocq, who has lifted two tour-level singles trophies, will be playing against Dimitar Kuzmanov of Bulgaria. Promising Russian Andrey Rublev is another notable player of the qualies. On his return to Istanbul – where he reached second round last year – Rublev will take on local boy coeval Sarp Agabigun.

Defending doubles champion Radu Albot of Moldova (partnering Dusan Lajovic) is going to face Russia’s Ivan Nedelko in the first round.

Four players to pass two rounds in the qualifying will earn their spots in the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open main draw.
