Three Serbians will appear in the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open quarterfinals as Viktor Troicki and Laslo Djere also booked their place in the last eight following Dusan Lajovic.

Serbians make their mark as three players from the same country, Viktor Troicki, Laslo Djere and Dusan Lajovic will appear in the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open quarterfinals.

On the third match of the day, there was an upset on Garanti Koza Arena from world no. 153 Laslo Djere. 21-year-old Serbian, who reached maiden tour-level semifinal in Budapest last week as qualifier, continued his rising form in Istanbul as he sent the fourth seed Paolo Lorenzi out of the tournament in straight-sets 6-4, 6-3.

Following this win, Djere’s compatriot Troicki was also victorious to reach his third quarterfinal of the year. Saving one set point in the second, fifth seed Troicki defeated ATP Next Gen player Karen Khachanov 6-4, 7-6. Now it’s sure that one Serb will be in the last four as Djere and Troicki will meet in quarterfinal round.

Two guys have just played each other a week ago in Budapest where Djere beat Troicki 7-5, 6-2 in the second round.
