TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open main draw ceremony was held with the attendance of Turkish Tennis Federation President Cengiz Durmus, Koza WOS CEO Yavuz Selek, ATP World Tour Director Miro Bratoev, ATP Supervisor Thomas Karlberg, Tournament Director Paul McNamee, Turkish Davis Cup player Cem Ilkel and Croatian NextGen star Borna Coric.
Top four seeds respectively Milos Raonic, Marin Cilic, defending champion Diego Schwartzman and Paolo Lorenzi will be receiving a bye in the first round. 2016 Wimbledon runner-up, world no. 6 Raonic will begin his campaign against the winner of Marton Fucsovics-Aljaz Bedene while 2014 US Open Champion, world no. 8 Cilic will take on Damir Dzumhur or a qualifier in the second round.
Match-ups for the other seeded players are set as Viktor Troicki(5)-Marcos Baghdatis, Bernard Tomic(6)-Radu Albot, Borna Coric(7)-Dusan Lajovic and Steve Darcis(8)-Dudi Sela. Meanwhile Turkey’s young talent Cem Ilkel, who received one of the three wildcards, will be playing Russian veteran Mikhail Youzhny, a former top 10 and two-time US Open semi-finalist.
