It will be an all-Top 10 final clash at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open as world no. 6 Milos Raonic will face world no. 8 Marin Cilic.
Milos Raonic, who had been sidelined due to a hamstring injury, is into his first clay-court final in Istanbul. Following difficult wins consecutively against Aljaz Bedene and Bernard Tomic, top-seeded Canadian was in full control in the semifinal against Viktor Troicki.
As in his previous matches on Garanti Koza Arena, 2016 Wimbledon runner-up didn’t drop a service game while breaking Troicki three times to close out the encounter 6-2, 6-3 in 65 minutes. Milos is now 5-1 in the head-to-head against Serbian opponent.
World no. 6 Raonic will be bidding for his ninth tour-level title in his maiden clay-court final. 26-year-old, who will take on Marin Cilic in the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open championship match, will also try to 16-month title drought after 2016 Brisbane crown.
